Casa Zalszupin and the Faculty of Architecture of Poznan University of Technology invite the public to a discussion with Guilherme Wisnik (architect, professor, and Vice-Dean of FAU-USP), Piotr Marciniak (architect, architectural historian specializing in heritage conservation, and professor at the Faculty of Architecture of Poznan University of Technology), Adrianna Brechelke-Wojtczak (PhD, architect), Ewa Angoneze-Grela (PhD, architect), and Lissa Carmona (CEO of ETEL and founder of Casa Zalszupin).
The event brings together different perspectives on post-war Polish architecture, focusing on the tension between reconstruction and modernity. The scale of the destruction caused by the Second World War provides the historical starting point, leading to modernist solutions and new approaches to urban planning.
The lecture pays particular attention to the so-called Recovered Territories, incorporated into Poland after 1945, where profound political, social, and demographic transformations had a significant impact on the configuration of the built environment.
Through selected architectural projects and examples of urban transformation, post-war architecture is presented as a field of experimentation, dialogue with the past, and the construction of a new spatial identity.
